Installation

The Cla-Val Model 33A shall be installed in the vertical position on top of the pipeline.


Description

The 33A is a normally open, float-operated valve. When the pipeline is filling, the float is down and air is expelled through the large orifice. As the water level reaches the float and lifts it, the large orifice closes and remaining air is vented through the small orifice. When all air has been expelled, the Model 33A closes drip tight.

When line pressure drops below atmospheric pressure, the Model 33A will open and admit air into the line, preventing a vacuum.

The body and cover shall be cast iron. The float shall be stainless steel. Internal parts shall be Delrin, and seals shall be rubber. Access to the internal assembly shall be through the top of the valve, and all required maintenance shall be possible without removing the valve from the line.
